My first day in Germany was smooth sailing. As soon as I stepped off the plane I was introduced to two lovely tour guides, Octavian and Flavia, who helped us exit the airport and lead us on our way across the town of Berlin. After dropping off our luggage at the quirky, Meininger hotel we were lead along the bustling streets of Berlin.
While on our way to the center of town we had to take their public transportation system, an above ground subway station. Very excited for this part of the journey due to my lack of experience on public modes of transportation.
My friends and I took advantage of the free time we had before continuing with our tour by stoping at a cafe and enjoying a few drinks. The outside scenery was refreshing but not as refreshing as the drinks.
While on our tour we were shown many beautiful structures including cathedrals, museums, and other monuments. Each building having its own unique architecture that reminded me of the Roman Empire.
Our day wrapped up with a delicious meal consisting of a light salad, meat, potatoes, green beans, and finished with an apple strudel. This day was just the tip of the iceberg, and I can’t wait for more.
